Ariel
Ariel
PERSONALITY Ariel is a bright, spirited mermaid with a strong passion for adventure and exploration. Her tendency to explore the more mysterious depths of the ocean (or more importantly, the world beyond the ocean) can lead to an array of problems to both herself, her friends, and in the confines of her personal lifeāas seen through her constant confrontations with her protective father, King Triton. Nevertheless, Ariel's selflessness, compassion, and intuitive way of thinking often resolves such problems, as she always takes full responsibility for her actions. Ariel has a burning obsession with the human world, and a desire to learn more about their culture. Unlike her father, she views humans as aspiring creatures, astonished by their ability to constantly create, and heavily goes against the idea of them being "barbaric" and selfish as a result of this. Ariel is also shown to be extremely compassionate and loving; more so platonically than romantically. This is most notably seen through her friendships. She is comforting and patient, as well as protective, with the tendency to risk her own life for the guppy's on various occasions. Before she met Eric, she was rarely interested in romantic relationships, not even with any of the merman princes that Triton tried to get her to marry. Like her father, Ariel has a bad temper if ever she is provoked, although hers is not as bad as his. Although spirited, even she has had some degree of self-doubts about herself, as she actually at one point considered her father might have been correct and that she may have been a freak for having any fascination for humanity. She also had a degree of seeing good in things, as she also doubted that humanity could have been pure evil from their tools and artworks. Also, despite her usual naivety and impulsiveness, Ariel has shown on many occasions to be serious, careful, and very intelligent and intuitive. HISTORY Ariel was the youngest of seven children, and, was born in the kingdom of Atlantica. She had a want to see more of the world then just the kingdom where they all lived. But, after what happened to her mother, their father King Triton became alot more protective, and, wanted his daughters to be safe. One day while wandering the sea, Ariel stumbles upon a shipwreck, and, saves a young man named Eric from death. Once she saves him, Ariel instantly falls in love with him, but, swims off before he awakens. She spends the next year looking for that same ship and the man, and, hoping that she would see him, but, she realised even if she did Ariel was still a mermaid. But, she refused to tell her father about the ship and the man that came with it. While swimming she finds a paper about the Under the Sea celebration for the sea goddess Ursula. A mythical truth about Ursula granting mermaids the ability to walk on dry land during high tide gives Ariel the idea to try and find Eric. She saves Snow White from drowning, and, then explains what she was planning on doing, and, she is surprised when Snow agrees to go with her to this ball. When Eric first arrives, Ariel is scared to talk to him, but, thanks to a push from Snow she dances with him. Ariel and Eric talk about the shipwreck, before she tells him about her desire to see the world. Ariel is excited when Eric offers her to go with him on his boat, but, she needs to wait until tomorrow to have an answer for Eric. She is scared to show Eric her true self, and, confides in Snow White, who convinces her to be honest with him. Ariel still isn't convinced though, and, goes to Ursula for help. Being given a magic bracelet, Ariel is surprised to know that it would be able to make her a human permanently as long as she is able to have someone else be a mermaid as replacement. But, being as naive as she is Ariel gives the bracelet to Snow before realising she'd been tricked. Ariel is about to leave, when she decides to save her friend instead of escaping to find Eric. After going to find Eric and reaching his boat, Ariel tries calling out for him, but, realises she can't, and, the Evil Queen reveals that she stole her voice as revenge for letting Snow escape. Tearful, Ariel swims off into the sea. Ariel spent the next countless years looking for the ship of her beloved Eric, but, she'd never had any real luck with any of it. Soon, she found herself being called to a place known as Neverland, where she comes face to face with a man named Rumplestiltskin, and, once again the Evil Queen. Learning that they needed a favour for her, Ariel is resistant wondering why she would ever help her. She only changes her mind once she learns that where they were sending her was where her prince Eric was. Ariel swam to this town known as Storybrooke and meets the person she was told to, Belle, and, finds the box that Rumplestiltskin and the Evil Queen told her to find, and, Ariel swam back to Neverland, giving the box to them, and, Regina kept her part of the deal, allowing her to have legs as much as she wanted. Heading back to Storybrooke Ariel finally finds her prince Eric, thanks to the help of Belle. Ariel is scared of whether the reaction will come, but, is ecstatic when he seems happy to see her, and, they finally engage in a kiss. Their reunion was short-lived when the reverse curse sends them all back, and, Eric doesn't end up with Ariel. Ariel searches for someone to help her, and, stumbles upon Captain Hook, enlisting his help to find him. Their trip sends them to his ship the Jolly Roger, which was now under the control of Blackbeard. Ariel is shocked to know that Hook killed Blackbeard in order to get his ship back, but, at the expense of Eric's life. Furious, Ariel slaps Hook before swimming off to find Eric. Even though she was reunited with Eric, Ariel ends up trapped in a bottle when Elsa shrinks the ship to trap Blackbeard and his crew. Once Ursula brings the ship from the Enchanted Forest to Storybrooke, Ariel is freed from it. Ariel saves Hook from the drowning of the seas just in time. The two of them later fill each other in on what happened, before the two of them go their seperate ways. Ariel is now living in Storybrooke, once again looking for her beloved Eric, and, trying to make a life for herself here while she does. Luckily she still has the bracelet allowing her to go from human to mermaid. RP SAMPLE Ariel's life hadn't exactly gone the way she intended it to. After everything that happened with Snow and the Evil Queen, all Ariel had wanted was to find her prince Eric, and then she would've left everyone else alone to their own business. But, the Evil Queen hadn't liked the fact that she had a conscience, and, decided to help Snow instead of her. Snow had helped her, but, the Evil Queen hadn't, even though she seemed like she was trying to. Which is why she was overjoyed to see Snow in this strange town, and, in this strange world. In a way, she was relieved as it meant that she had been able to avoid being killed by that Evil Queen, who had some grudge against her for some reason unknown to her. She would've enjoyed seeing and hearing Snow's voice, especially since right now she didn't even have her own. Their first meeting was still fresh in her head, Snow had jumped off of the edge of a cliff, and, Ariel had dived in to rescue her. She moved herself up onto the rocks, leaving her tail sitting in the water, but, leaving her focus mainly on Snow. Ariel smiled softly as Snow started to speak, but, when Snow acknowledged how long it had been, Ariel smiled, but, there was a sadness behind it. Had it really been 30 years since she'd seen her beloved Eric? Or been able to even speak? She was glad to see Snow though, Ariel didn't know where any of her friends were, but, now she did. Looking around, Ariel tried to find something to write her answer with, and, luckily she found a stick. Grabbing it, Ariel wrote. in the sand in between both of them. I'm glad to see you too Snow. Has it really been that long? How are you? |
